Boyvoice
Boyzvoice burst on to the Norwegian music scene in the
spring of 1999 following
an appearance on a popular TV show. The sudden fame came
unexpectedly to the
three brothers in the band - Tom-Petter, Torbjørn and Roar,
with the stage names
M'Pete, Hot Tub and Roar (he thought it best to use his real
name so as not to
confuse his kids). Before being discovered and renamed by
their manager they
were called The Lund-Bergseters Trio.
Let Me Be Your Father Xmas was their debut single. It spent
five weeks at number
1 and sold several times platinum. Their second single, We
Are The Playmomen,
was another top 10 hit. Such was their success that, like
many other popular
bands before them, they made a movie - Get Ready To Be
Boyzvoiced. The film and
their debut CD with the same title were released in the
autumn of 2000.
Unfortunately, the movie and the album were badly received
by the critics and
consequently the band disappeared from the public eye (and
indeed ear) as
quickly as they had arrived.
Even so, they will always have a place in my heart and I can
recommend a number
of their other songs, e.g. Twelve Year Old Woman and Kick
The Ball (Unofficial
Anthem for Euro 2000).
