Well, I must say that I *was* surprised as votes started coming in. But after a few days, I realized that Godinama is such a great pop song that it might deserve to win. And in the end, it looks like the majority of you thought so. I had thought The Gift would be the obvious winner from the get-go, but we're such a bipolar group, that the song either got very high points or it got none. In the end it managed to get the very respectful second place. Italy, on the other hand, got a bunch of middle scores and *it* became the real surprise, I think. Next comes the winner that blew away its competition in WB8, Nostalgija, coming 4th followed by the wonderful Japanese entry.

Fun special edition, folks. We ended up having 20 voters to match the 20 entries. And even though some songs had to make up the bottom 5, the ones that do are all great songs in their own right. This is a wonderful collection of songs and I'm very proud that we've all made it this far, folks.

The whole game started off as a success, but it went through a couple of early problems, what with me not knowing if I'd have time to run it. But, now, it demands that I find time for it and to tell the truth, I don't know how long we can go on. It seems like it will be forever. That would be really interesting - 2010 and we're looking back at the past 10 years of this cool, weird little game we have going. I can only wait to hear all the songs we've got prepared for each other, songs that aren't even released yet.

We're soon to begin the 21st edition of Worldbeat. Having looked back on the past 20 editions, work hard to bring us something that we might remember for years to come. I love listening to my Worldbeat CDs in my car, and I'm burning of excitement to find out what you've got cooking for us after a couple of months of no new songs. Awe us!
